This series was created to initially be displayed in the town of Newburyport, MA. Growing up just down the road from here, it was very sentimental to pursue this project. By capturing the iconic views of this sea-side town in paintings, I was able to solidify some of those nostalgic feelings. There is something very calm and comfortable about this town that I think comes through with the use of embroidery hoops in place of traditional rectangular canvases.
